Nevada Speed Limits

In Nevada you must follow a Basic Rule of driving at a “reasonable or proper” speed.  In addition to abiding by the posted Nevada speed limits, drivers must determine a safe speed by the amount and type of traffic, weather conditions and visibility, and the type of road (flat/straight/steep/curvy/wide/narrow).  If the conditions warrant, speed may have to be reduced to less than the posted speed limit.  You must never drive at a speed that will endanger yourself or others.

Posted speed limits for normal driving conditions:

School Zones
25mph Business and residential areas and school zones
45mph Reduced speed areas going into towns
65mph Urban freeways, rural highways
Rural interstate freeways
