All motor vehicles registered with the Nevada DMV are required to be
covered by liability insurance, and insurance coverage is tracked using
an Insurance Verification Program (IVP).
Nevada requires the following minimum auto insurance coverage:
- $15,000 for bodily injury or death of one person
- $30,000 for bodily injury or death of 2 or more persons
- $10,000 for property damage
Also required is SR-22 Proof of Financial Responsibility if the
driver is applying for reinstatement of a suspended or revoked driver’s
license. Insurance coverage must be issued by an insurance agency
that is licensed to do business in the State of Nevada.
